The Cross' Mills Public Library will reopen to the public - in a limited capacity and with precautions in place - on June 15th! We will continue to provide curbside pickup, but we will now offer browsing, checkout, and computer use in the building following these guidelines - we ask for your cooperation so that we can open our doors while also observing recommended precautions to minimize the spread of COVID-19:

  • Masks MUST be worn in the library at all times as per the Governor's Executive Order. If a patron is unable to wear a mask due to a medical condition, we will gladly provide curbside service.
  • Patrons will be asked to maintain six feet of distance between themselves and other patrons.
  • Our maximum capacity for the building will be 15 people. You may be asked to wait outside if you arrive and the building is at maximum capacity.
  • Patrons may browse the shelves, but will be asked to keep their visits to 20 minutes or less. If you'd like to linger and read in a quiet spot, we recommend one of our garden benches or picnic tables.
  • Computer use will be by appointment only. 3 laptops will be available, with printer access, and will be set up in the Champlin Room.
  • Hand sanitizer will be provided at the entrance to the building; high touch surfaces will be wiped down regularly.

We're looking forward to seeing you at the library!

  • Curbside pickup is available if you are unable or uncomfortable coming inside the Library.
  • Search the catalog at https://catalog.oslri.net/ and select Cross' Mills from the "View Entire Collection" menu.
  • Call or email the library with your requests at 401-364-6211 or staff@crossmills.org
  • Schedule a 15-minute window pickup time. Bagged items will be labeled with borrowers’ names and placed on a table in the library foyer inside the first set of doors or outside, weather permitting. Participants should wear masks and engage in social distancing while picking up materials.
  • Please return items to either book drop.
